Tynemouth Classic

VW Rally 2014

A walk from North Shields along the Tyne with friends made for a good start. With barely a breath of wind and bright sunshine, the weather was perfect for this year's show. I was really looking forward to it.

Heading up to the old Spanish Battery, it was amazing to see how busy the show was. I settled in amongst the Campervans and started taking photos.

I was pretty pleased with many of the photos taken the previous year, especially with the positive feedback I received. So I continued in a similar fashion, let the photography develop naturally whilst documenting the show further, particularly the social aspect.

I wanted to balance this with some informal portraiture too. I thought this might be tricky considering the amount of people there, yet I found I could disappear into the crowds and quickly take photos.

Which was quite lucky as I spotted someone whose photo I really needed to take, it happens occasionally. It took quite a few attempts, much to the bemusement of those I was with, I finally walked away happy and unnoticed.

We all caught up at the dog show, which was even more chaotic than the previous year as it nearly didn't happen, causing much hilarity. With a few more photos, it was time to head back along the Tyne, we'd all had a great time.
